WSCUC 2024 Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation

LMU receives regional accreditation from WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Our last reaffirmation of accreditation was issued in 2015. As part of our reaccreditation process, an institutional report and supporting documents are due in July 2024, and a site visit will occur in Fall 2024.

Thematic Pathway to Reaffirmation

Because of the high quality of our last accreditation results, LMU has been chosen as part of a select group of institutions to undergo Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation (TPR). According to WSCUC, the TPR was developed as an alternate pathway for reaffirmation for eligible institutions that demonstrate consistent evidence of a healthy fiscal condition, strong student achievement indicators, and sustained quality performance.

In addition to reporting on our fulfillment of WSCUC’s core standards, opting for this pathway allows us to focus our study on a self-selected theme in lieu of reporting in greater detail on more standardized areas of inquiry. In consultation with the Cabinet, the Deans Council, Provost’s Office Senior Staff, and Faculty Senate, we proposed and received approval from WSCUC to focus our self-study on the theme of “Inclusive Student Success.”

Thus, the self-study report which we will submit to WSCUC in July 2024, will contain two core components, one addressing the WSCUC standards for reaccreditation and the other focusing on our self-selected theme of “Inclusive Student Success.”
